Impact of Wireless Broadband on Content, Applications, and Services

May 12-16, 2008

Objective

Wireless broadband networks are poised to drive an explosion in new services and applications. The combination of higher speed and mobility will bring new dimensions to applications in terms of context, location, personalization, and community. The trend toward open software and architectures could lead to the creation of a rich application ecosystem that includes traditional and user-generated content, various types of video, enhanced social networking, gaming and entertainment. The theme of this year's EDP Program is the impact of wireless broadband on the content, applications, and services. We will explore the new value chains and business models. We will also find how players in the telecom, cable/MSO, and over-the-top industries are viewing the opportunities and challenges provided by wireless broadband networks.

The EDP Program leverages the strengths of the University and its Industry Partners by featuring lectures from leading academics, industry and government experts, and top executives. The program is also structured to provide ample opportunities to work and network with other participants from various areas of the industry.
