Objective
The future of the global telecommunications industry is starting to take shape after years of uncertainty and turmoil. The fight to become full service providers for both the enterprise and consumer markets will intensify between various industry participants. The battle will be particularly intensive in the North American front, especially between the Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILEC) and the Cable Multiple System Operators (MSO). While Government Policy and Regulation would define the boundary conditions of these battle fronts, strategic choices on emerging technologies and architectures will define the framework of how converged and new services will be delivered. The them of this year's EDP Program is to examine the challenges and opportunities related to these emerging technologies and architectures, from both the service provider and equipment vendor perspectives.
The EDP program leverages the strengths of the University and its Industry Partners by featuring lectures from leading academics, industry experts, and top executives. The program is also structured to provide ample opportunities to work and network with other participants from various areas of the industry.
