"As a patent attorney who started her career during the telecom/dot.com boom, the MET program offered the opportunity to put everything in the past into perspective, and to get ready for the march toward the next telecom height, in the short term in the convergence of access and delivery of different services and networks. Not only is this an excellent and substantive program in the technical sense, I would also like to thank all the faculty and staff of the MET/CIN program who showed the highest level of professionalism, support, and understanding toward their students.

"I had wondered how to master all of the new technology.
Those one or two day seminars available within the telecommunications
industry would not be sufficient. Meanwhile, the technical
advances continued. I found the Certificate in Networking
program a great way to understand the new technologies,
the industry and what the future holds. The University
has an outstanding depth of knowledge of the latest technologies,
and the associated legal, regulatory and business issues.
The program is taught by more than a dozen experts, most
of them U of T professors with specific areas of expertise,
some of them experts from industry. One of the strengths
of this program is that it provides theoretical fundamentals,
not simply information on specific innovations. As a result,
students gain a sound understanding that can be applied
more generally to future advancements. This is no quick
fix. There is a lot to be learned. The program requires
considerable effort and so you need to be able to dedicate
some time to this program. But if you need to better understand
the technologies involved in telecommunications today
and in the future, this will be time very well spent."
